Episode 37: The Maximal Data Argument
Apologist Evan Minton joins Sam and DHF board chair Drew McClellan to discuss the Maximal Data Argument for the Resurrection. This argument is an increasingly alternative to the “Minimal Facts Argument” championed by Dr. Gary Habermas and others. In the minimal facts argument, you demonstrate that the Resurrection happened by appealing to what is accepted to most scholars, but in Evan’s words in the Maximal Data Approach, “no piece of evidence is off the table.” The argument takes the time to establish the authors of the gospels and the gospels authenticity and goes from there.
Those who teach the Bible from the pulpit or in a small group, can sprinkle some of the evidence mentioned into their lessons or messages, and when sharing your faith, this information can answer sincere questions and encourage people to respond to truth.
